Re: I thought Delph said he was staying at Villa ?
He labelled Man City as 'one of the biggest clubs in the world' is he THAT ignorant or was it a soundbite? They're not even the biggest club in Manchester.

I've just realised I've got quite a lot in common with Fabian Delph.
We'll both be playing the same amount at Manchester City.

Everyone has a price, the dildo brothers would sell anyone of our players if the price was right!

What a fool.
On the fringes for England and then decides to fuck it off on off chance of handful of games at man city.
Money really is king now eh.

Promised and pledged to stay at Villa Park only a few days ago....

Oh!

Sad state of affairs were in modern day football this sort of thing is no suprise.

Re: I thought Delph said he was staying at Villa ?
Really pisses me off that clubs like Man City are suddenly interested in English players purely imo because of the homegrown rules coming in.

Delph equals Scott Sinclair mark two.

Will be playing for Sunderland within 12 months.

Re: I thought Delph said he was staying at Villa ?
He was expected to leave last season and there was major surprise when he signed a new contract mid season.
Now he decided against joining City before deciding he was going to do it after all.
He is either an international man of mystery or a WOMAN

Re: I thought Delph said he was staying at Villa ?
Puzzling move for him as he won't be first choice there but it's hardly a surprise. Not the first time a player has said he loves a club and wants to stay only to then join another club not long after.

More fool Villa for only putting an £8 million release clause in. That is low when you look at what other players of similar age and ability go for.

One of the managers where I work is Villa and was well smug about him staying.

Re: I thought Delph said he was staying at Villa ?
Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has admitted his delight at capturing Fabian Delph from Aston Villa.

He told the club’s official website: “Fabian Delph is an excellent player, and I am looking forward to working with him. He has made a huge impact in recent seasons at Aston Villa, and is now one of the brightest young midfielders in the Premier League.

“Fabian has tremendous skill and energy, and the fact that he has become a regular member of the England squad is further evidence of his progress over the past few seasons. At just 25 years old, he still has his best years ahead of him.”

"FABIAN DELPH PLEDGED FUTURE TO VILLA AFTER REJECTING MAN CITY

‘I'm not leaving. I'm staying at the football club and I can't wait for the start of the season and captaining this great football club.’

Fabian Delph, July 11

Total utter getter cunt

It looks likely he'll get booed at Villa Park while doing his warm ups on the sidelines while waiting for his 5 mins at the end to give David Silva a rest.

Which is why Stubbo may be right.

It's a real shame as he was just starting to look the part for England. Waste.

I don't think its the move thats the problem, more the going on camera declaring his undying loyalty to villa. Just say nothing.

Re: I thought Delph said he was staying at Villa ?
Could be he spoke to Sherwood, who told him they were building and would be looking to strengthen/improve.

2 days later he sees Benteke head off, and recalls that when he was injured they were totally appalling, and didn't much fancy more of the same.

Otherwise there is no real reason for him to have made the big announcement previously - something must have changed for him to be prepared to make himself look like such a cunt.

I imagine Delph, being a professional footballer (who in no way resembles Carlton Palmer) will know there are no guarantees in football. He's just got to take his chances.
